Woolley House

Paddington, NSW

2022

This complex 4 level project involved seamlessly adding to, altering and repairing a late Twentieth Century, Sydney School style contemporary Heritage Item in Paddington Sydney. The home of well known Sydney architect Ken Woolley. Works included removing recent unsympathetic additions, excavating under the building to create additional service rooms and an excavated self contained garden flat and lower garden terrace. The brick paved floors were restored with under floor heating, open stairs made safe with an invisible mesh screen and the timber ceilings repaired. The kitchen and bathrooms were restored to the original design. The new work skill fully maintains all the character of the original building, ensuring this important heritage item continues to be a valuable contribution to the Paddington Heritage Conservation Area and a dynamic home for its new owners.
