1 Courtyard house
The concept for this suburban house design is a home around a series of walled gardens or courts. This creates privacy in a built up area and utilizes the gardens as outdoor rooms. The central living area is open plan with a double height living room scooping in light at all times of the day and able to be fully opened up to two courtyards. The central circulation spine extends the full length of the site from the carport to the rear garden separating the bedrooms from the living areas. Constructed of brick and polished concrete this is a robust design for a modern suburban lifestyle.
2 Roo Run
The idea is similar to the American dog run house adapted to Australian conditions. A long pavilion design with bedrooms at each end and a central living area opening up on both sides with a pergola to the north and deck to the carport on the other side. The zinc roof with its distinctive gentle curve overlays a simple plan allowing all year round climate control in the cathedral ceiling central living spaces. This design makes the most of its semi rural to rural setting.

The high ceilings and blade walls to the facades are all designed to catch the breezes and maximize air flow. The house is built up off the ground on one level in steel with a timber interior. The design features wide verandahs on two sides one being for a car port and entry the other enclosed in insect screens to the garden and suites many different locations town or country.
5 Canopy House
This design is for the tropics with two levels opening out from all rooms to maximize the beauty of a rainforest location. A long narrow plan with cantilevering first floor and a large overhanging roof creates a distinct character inspired by a response to the needs of climate control in the tropics. The ground floor is open plan with double height living spaces opening to verandahs and decks with a pool.
The upper level has separate master suite accessing a covered terrace and a series of bedrooms with a two car port below.
6 Tin Cabins
The idea behind this design was to create a permanent tent hence the tin cabins are designed as a step up from camping, a tiny but comfortable permanent get away from the routine of city life. The building is designed to be located off grid and as a prefabricated structure it can be delivered to remote sites and quickly erected. The 6metre high metal clad tower provides a cosy loft bedroom accessed by a ladder and a small living/kitchen area on ground which opens on 3 sides to decks shaded by the lower walls which are opened up by a series of winches and pullies.
The shower and WC are separate structures and the cabins can be repeated to create a village character increasing accommodation as required to enjoy the great outdoors.
