The Nhulunbuy Wilderness Lodge is to be an integrated Eco-Resort on the edge of the Arafura Sea in Arnhem Land. The design for the lodge includes cabins, camping and lodge accommodation for Manduwuy Yunupingu.
The brief was to create an inspirational seaside lodge integrated with nature, and in harmony with the traditional owners. It aims to be environmentally sensitive while maximising the potential of the site, as a unique destination on the edge of the Gulf of Carpentaria.
The site area was 52000 square metres, located 2 km south of the township of Nhulunbuy in untouched coastal dunes and heath land.
Accommodation included a variety of distinctive design options at different price points all within the same development.
